Balfour Beatty Management Zero Harm initiative

ZERO HARM initiative

Balfour Beatty has set all operating companies a health and safety target of Zero Harm by 2012.  We take health and safety very seriously in our business and personal life and ensure that everything we do is done safely.  ‘This is a four year mission….what were doing with this programme is driving the stakes so firmly into the ground there’s no going back.’  Andy Rose, Group MD for Engineering and Safety.

The primary goals of ZERO HARM are:

  • Zero fatalities
  • No seriously disabling injuries
  • No long term harm to health

‘Zero Harm – to find ways to do what we do that won’t ruin lives. That’s the big shift we’ve got to make. And it’s going to take committed, inspirational leadership across all our businesses. We need people to apply their minds to this. But we need their hearts and their passion too. We need them to make Safety personal’. Andy Rose – Group Managing Director – Engineering and Safety.
